10 Day A-Step Introductory Course

This course introduces an interested candidate to the field of sleep medicine and clinical polysomnography.

The following topics will be covered:

Sleep Scoring Workshop

Two-day workshop designed to train the technologist the AASM recommended rules of scoring a polysomnographic study. There will be ample time for the student to practice the didactic component of the program. Each student will be given the opportunity to compare his or her results on scoring a study against a computer based gold standard for feedback.

Technologists Registry Review Course

Two day-course designed for the technologist preparing to sit for the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists Examination.

Topics that will be covered are the following:

  1. PSG Testing
  2. CPAP/Bilevel Titrations
  3. Polysomnographic study scoring
  4. MSLT/MWT recording and scoring
  5. Pediatric Polysomnographic recording
  6. EKG interpretation and event recognition.
  7. Polysomnographic hardware review
  8. Medications and effects on Sleep Architecture
  9. Mock examination
CPR Certification Course

The BLS Course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED. In the Instructor-led course, students participate in simulated clinical scenarios and learning stations. Students work with an American Heart AssociationĀ® BLS Instructor to complete BLS skills practice and skills testing. Students also complete a written exam.

CPR Recertification Course

The BLS Course retrains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED. In the Instructor-led course, students participate in simulated clinical scenarios and learning stations.
